Terms of use
This Gift Card, issued by Pine Labs Ltd, is usable atwww.zepto.comand/or the Zepto mobile application (“Zepto Platform”) operated by Zepto Marketplace Private Limited (“Zepto”).The Gift Card shall be issued under the name of “Zepto Gift Card”.
This Gift Card Agreement (“Agreement”) is between the purchaser and/or redeemer (“You”) of the Gift Card(“Gift Card”), and Pine Labs Ltd. (“Pine Labs” or “Issuer”), a public limited company incorporated under thelaws of India and authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (“RBI”) to issue such Gift Cards.
By purchasing and/or redeeming the Gift Card, you accept the following terms and conditions:
You must have an active and valid Zepto account to redeem the Gift Card. Gift Cards may be purchased onlinefrom authorized distributors using the prescribed payment modes only, i.e. credit card, debit card andinternet banking provided by banks in India.
You will only be able to redeem the Gift Card if you provide/update a valid name, surname and mobile number with Zepto.
The value of each Gift Card shall not exceed INR 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand only), and the aggregated valueof all such Gift Cards per user per month shall not exceed INR 25,000 (Rupees Twenty-Five Thousand only).
The Users may not be able to utilise the Gift Card for certain products, including precious metals such asgold, silver products, online commerce vouchers and such other products or categories as may be determinedby Zepto and/or its sellers from time to time. The Users are requested to always check the Zepto Platformbefore completing their purchases.
The Gift Card cannot be used outside India. It is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issuance.The cardholder may request revalidation of the expired Gift Card. Upon receipt of such a request, the GiftCard may be revalidated by the Issuer after due verification and may be subject to additional terms and conditions.
The Gift Cards can be redeemed online on the Zepto Platform.
You may follow these steps to redeem the Gift Card on the Zepto Platform:
Log in to the Zepto Platform.
Click on “My Profile/Settings”.
Go to “Zepto Cash & Gift Card”.
Click on the “Add Card” option to add the Gift Card.
Enter the 16-digit card code and 6-digit PIN, and then click “Add Gift Card”.
For balance inquiry, please visit the “Zepto Cash & Gift Card” section on the Zepto Platform.
Limits may apply to your redemption of or spend using the Gift Card. If you have other payment methods inyour Zepto account, value from the Gift Card may be set as your default payment method. If you wish to useanother payment method, go to the payment section in the Zepto app and select the payment method before the payment is made.
The Gift Card cannot be reloaded with additional funds after purchase. Once purchased, the Gift Card cannotbe cancelled by the purchaser, nor is the Gift Card refundable, transferable, returnable or redeemable for cash or credit, except where required by law.
Gift Cards cannot be resold.
Any cancellations shall be at the sole discretion of Zepto/Pine Labs. You cannot purchase other Gift Cards with the Gift Card, nor can you use the Gift Card to make a payment on a credit account.
The Gift Card balance cannot be transferred to any other instrument. Purchases made with value from the Gift Card are not refundable, except where required by law.
Issuer/Zepto assumes no responsibility for the products purchased using the Gift Cards, and any liability thereof is expressly disclaimed.
Zepto may also issue certain Gift Cards as part of a Zepto Platform promotion. Such promotional Gift Cards may have additional restrictions on the products for which they can be redeemed. All such restrictions shall be binding and applicable to You.
You are solely responsible for the safety and security of the Gift Card. Issuer/Zepto is not responsible for any acts of omission or commission if the Gift Card is lost, stolen or used without permission.
Once the Gift Card has been sent to you, you are bound to protect the Gift Card PIN or Gift Card number as confidential.IN THE EVENT THAT A GIFT CARD IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY (AND PINE LABS’ POTENTIAL LIABILITY) SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH GIFT CARD.
Issuer reserves the right to void the Gift Card if the Issuer/Zepto suspects that the Gift Card was obtained or used fraudulently, unlawfully or otherwise in violation of this Agreement. In such cases, the funds shall be credited back to the same source from which they were received.
Issuer/Zepto may modify any of the terms and conditions applicable to the Gift Card at any time.
Redemption of the Gift Card is also subject to the Terms of Use governing your Zepto account.
You agree and understand that Gift Cards are prepaid payment instruments subject to regulations issued by the RBI under the applicable RBI guidelines.
Issuer may be required to share the KYC details of the purchaser/redeemer of the Gift Card and/or any other information in relation to the purchase of the Gift Cards and/or transactions undertaken using the Gift Card with the RBI or other statutory authorities.
Zepto/Pine Labs may contact the purchaser/redeemer of the Gift Card for any such information.
In the event that the beneficiary/Know Your Customer (“KYC”) details, as required under the RBI guidelines, are found to be incorrect or insufficient, the Issuer retains the right to block/cancel the Gift Card issued.
If the order value exceeds the Gift Card amount, the balance must be paid using a credit card, debit card, internet banking, UPI or other available payment options.
If the order value is less than the amount of the Gift Card, the outstanding balance, after deduction of the order value, can be used for subsequent transactions, subject to the validity of the Gift Card.
Similarly, Zepto may place purchase or redemption restrictions on certain Users or User cohorts for the safety and integrity of the Zepto Platform.
If any term of this Agreement is deemed to be invalid, void or, for any reason, unenforceable, such term(s) shall be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining terms of this Agreement.
Every holder of Gift Cards shall be required to add the Gift Card to their Zepto User Account as a prerequisite for redemption of the Gift Cards. This will entitle such holder to redeem the value against products and services on the Zepto Platform. Zepto shall honour and consider requests for blocking of Gift Cards only from users who have registered in accordance with the terms above. This Agreement shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, excluding its rules on conflicts of laws. To the extent permitted by law, any claim, dispute or controversy (“Claim”) arising out of or relating in any way to:
This Agreement;
The Gift Card;
Your acquisition of the Gift Card;
Your redemption of the Gift Card for use, or attempted use, within the Zepto Platform;
The amount of available funds on the Gift Card; or
Advertisements, promotions or oral or written statements related to the Gift Card;
no matter how described, pleaded or styled, shall be subject to the laws of India, and the courts in Bengaluru shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
This governing law and jurisdiction provision shall survive:
The termination of this Agreement;
The bankruptcy of any party; or
Any transfer, sale or assignment of the Gift Card, or any amounts owed on the Gift Card, to any other person or entity.
If any portion of this provision is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in force.
You can change the language for transaction alert via SMS notifications, please write to [email protected]. You can choose to receive SMS in any of one language – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Odia, Punjabi, Malayalam and Assamese. While sending the email, please mention the registered mobile against your gift card number and your preferred language option for getting these SMS.
Pine Labs will take upto 15 working days to update your SMS language preference. Please note, once your language preference is recorded for Zepto Gift Card, all future transaction alert SMS will be sent on your mobile number in your preferred language.

How are digital gift cards delivered?
When the Thankbox is sent the recipient receives a unique and secure link to redeem their gift. They choose their currency, retailer online gift card of choice or prepaid Visa, Mastercard or PayPal or Bank transfer option, and are then sent the virtual digital gift card, individual e-voucher or transfer instructions to their inbox.
How does the recipient spend their digital gift voucher?
Once the recipient has chosen their currency, retailer online gift card of choice or prepaid Visa, Mastercard or PayPal or Bank transfer option they can then go shopping. Ensuring to select any ‘pay by online gift voucher’ or similar option at checkout.
Many stores will also allow any virtual gift card to be used for more than one transaction, up to the gift card collection total amount. Split payments between virtual gift cards and credit cards are also common with many retailers, as are payments in physical stores, John Lewis being a good example.
Does adding to an online gift card collection have any fees?
We add a small fee to each gift contribution to cover our payment processing & fraud check costs.
This amount varies depending on the currency you are collecting in: 🇬🇧 GBP collections are charged at 1.1% + £0.17. e.g. contributing £10 means you'll pay £10.28 🇪🇺 EUR collections are charged at 2.5% + €0.17. e.g. contributing €10 means you'll pay €10.42 🇺🇸 USD collections are charged at 2.9% + $0.19. e.g. contributing $10 means you'll pay $10.48
The fee is always clearly and explicitly stated whenever someone leaves a contribution.
To minimise fees when making multiple contributions you can top up your gifting wallet once and use it for multiple Thankboxes.
Are payment details handled safely?
Thankbox uses Stripe as our payment provider. They are the gold standard for internet payments, used by companies such as Airbnb, Lyft and Booking.com. They handle all of the payment details, including security.
All collected digital gift card funds are stored in a dedicated secure bank account with restricted access.
Can I pay for my Thankbox from the collection pot?
100% you can!
